Meeting Guidance
Time Blocks
No Meeting Zones
By default, the engineering team has two No Meeting Zone blocks scheduled on their calendar each day:
- 8am MT – 11am MT
- 3pm MT – 5pm MT
By default, engineering team meetings will not be scheduled during these calendar blocks. As such, each engineer has a minimum of 5 hours of uninterrupted heads-down time each day.
Core Hours
The inverse of the No Meeting Zone blocks (11am – 3pm MT) are core hours. It is assumed team members are generally available during core hours. Core hours are the default time in which to schedule meetings or other synchronous collaboration.
Time Zones
Wunderers live and work across all US time zones. To alleviate issues related to working across time zones, we follow these guidelines:
- Assume team members’ working hours align with their home time zone (e.g. someone living in PT will generally work 9am – 5pm PT).
- Core hours overlap with common working hours across all US time zones.
- When communicating about time, default to Mountain Time.
- All Wunder-built software defaults to Mountain Time.
Engineering Team Google Calendar
All Engineering meetings (e.g. Standup, Demo Day, Iteration, etc.) are scheduled via a shared Google calendar. All members of the engineering team have access to reschedule or change Engineering calendar events via the shared calendar.
Meeting Recordings
When appropriate and helpful, we record meetings so folks can watch the recordings asynchronously. You can find all the available meeting reocrdings here:
